Sports
Before becoming a full-time filmmaker, I spent two decades working in professional sports, contributing to championship organizations across the NFL, Arena Football League, and World TeamTennis.
Washington Redskins
Began my NFL career as a game-day public relations intern in 1999 before earning a full-time role the following season. I worked with the franchise's first $100 million roster, featuring several Hall of Fame players.
San Diego Chargers
After three years working in PR, I got my first opportunity in scouting with the San Diego Chargers in 2003. That gave me a front-row seat to the famous Phillip Rivers - Eli Manning trade during the 2004 draft.
San Jose SaberCats
I returned to the Arena Football League's San Jose SaberCats in 2004 in player personnel. I later added quality control coaching responsibilities and took over the team's video department. In 2007, the SaberCats won their third championship.
Arizona Rattlers
At age 29, I was named Director of Player Personnel & Public Relations for the AFL's Arizona Rattlers. In one season, we transformed a team near the bottom of the standings into a home playoff host while launching a historic media campaign.
Washington Kastles
In 2010, I joined the Washington Kastles of World TeamTennis, where I spent the next decade. During my tenure, the team set a U.S. major professional sports record for consecutive wins, posted two undefeated seasons, and won five straight titles.
Lessons That Still Shape My Work
My career in sports took me from public relations to scouting, and from writing and communications to video production and game-day operations. The lessons I learned became the foundation of my filmmaking career and inspired my TV pilot, TURF.
